The Defaults tab contains default server connection information. Enter these as specified by your system administrator. The placeholder image URL is used in place of inline images for local preview (inline images cannot by dynamically previewed). If you must see exactly what the inline image looks like, begin a new draft with the template you need to view, attach the inline image and send a test messages to yourself.
The create journal entries checkbox determines if fmSpark will attempt to create journal entry records in the core CRM when message is sent (email) or printed (letter/label).
The default number of messages to preview determines how many messages will be created when the preview button is pressed on the 'create draft' screen. The large this number is the longer it will take to generate the preview.
Templates are stored pieces of content with an associated Layout and HTML Stationery (email only). This tab lists all the Templates currently in fmSpark. You can manage the meta data about Templates from this tab.
Creating a new template is done by creating a mailing and then editing the "Blank" template for the media type you're interested in. Make changes to the blank template and then save your work as a new template.

HTML Stationery is used to format email messages. It uses standard HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) formatting with placeholder tags ( [region1], [region2], [region3] ... through [region10] ) to perform dynamic replacements with content defined in the associated Template.

Layouts refers to actual FileMaker Pro layouts in the fmSpark file. Layouts are used for both Previews and Printing. All Templates need an associated Layout.

All Users in fmSpark are listed here. Users are created automatically the first time a new FileMaker Pro account is used to login to fmSpark. See Security more more information on accounts.
You can select Users in the list and edit their information as well as see all of their Drafts.
Fields and Functions
This tab lists the available Merge Fields and Functions. The Field List tab shows the available Fields. The Table is the associated grouping of Merge Fields. Ordinarily, Table refers to the Table Occurrence name, but it can also be an abstract name that is just used for grouping Merge Fields.
The Insert Table checkbox determines if the Table will also be entered as part of the merge. For standard field values, you should leave this checked. For "Functions", you may not need this. For example, if you want to insert the "First Name" field from the "CRM_TABLE" table, you will check the Insert Table checkbox. If you want to insert the function "Today", you should uncheck that checkbox. See Functions for more information on how to use the built-in functions.
The Locked checkbox will keep the field from being modified or removed as part of the Rebuild process. The Rebuild process walks the entire Relationship Graph in the fmSpark file and adds the Tables and Fields that don't begin with an underscore to the list.
